Warwick Shire Library contacted us when their new mobile library van was still in production. The brief was for a mural which would represent Warwick people and activities, and in particular, books in that context.
The Design Groups associate artist David Woodford came up with a series of quirky, cartoon-like characters, each involved in an activity, and simultaneously reading a book relevant to their own interests. The characters were set on a stylised background of rolling hills, waterfalls, sunflowers, and orchards all features of the district.
The proposed design delighted the interested parties and the finished mobile library has captured enormous public interest. |
