Though not reliant on the local economy for work, with much of our client base in Brisbane and other capital cities, we felt our local profile needed a boost. It was a case of the shoemakers children going unshod our very busyness promoting other companies seemed to allow little time for self-promotion.
Our research showed that people today suffer from information overload so it was essential that the message be brief the postcard concept was the perfect solution. The aim was to design something that would be fun, positive and very keepable. As we live in a small town, Warwick, SE Queensland, and appreciate the lifestyle that it offers, we decided to develop a theme around the benefits of when you live in Warwick. Sue McIver collaborated with David Woodford to come up with some basic ideas and a series of fun, playful cards were designed.
Four card designs were beautifully printed on 300gsm gloss stock by one of our local printers, Warwick Daily News and finished with a gloss varnish. The cards were sent out over a period of two months to local businesses and the resultant interest has exceeded expectation.
Our local tag is now the postcard people and many businesses display the cards on their noticeboards. We think weve achieved more than self-promotion weve helped people to gain an appreciation of how lucky we are to live in such a great place! |
